As one of the U.K.’s leading specialist breeders for fifteen years, Blenheim Alpacas were the very first to import Peruvian stock into the country. Our shipment in 1999 included 7 Accoyo alpacas from the legendary herd of the late Don Julio Barreda. That start put us in the position which we have maintained to this day of breeding and showing winners every season. Our herdsires have been used by many of our colleagues to enrich their own herds, and in 2003 we added further top quality with an import from Australia of top quality breeding alpacas, which again lifted our herd quality.

APRIL 2012 - IMPORTANT UPDATE

It is Mike Coghlan’s intention to seek a buyer for the herd (currently at approximately 85 alpacas) during the current year and possibly the business in its entirety, which includes goodwill and substantial fleece sales, and anyone wishing to discuss this should contact him on the number below.

There was such a disappointing turn out for the Elite Sale in Warwickshire this month that pending a sale of the entire herd we have decided to offer a number of the alpacas at prices below their reserve for the sale. This means that female alpacas are for sale at prices between £450-£2000, and stud males are for sale at prices between £1000-£3500. Multiple purchases will be subject to a further discount by arrangement.

We continue to be able to offer discerning breeders the opportunity of buying quality females newly pregnant to one of our top British born sires. This is the ultimate bargain value in terms of genetics to improve your herd.
